About the Senior VP Affiliate Operations:

The Senior VP of Affiliate Operations is responsible for leading the agency enterprises (ACG and BMIS) operationally and strategically, both for the near- and longer-term mission(s), bringing both plans and their issues to the planning committee and their respective board of directors for approval.  They are also responsible for providing strategic leadership for the companies by working with the CEO and fellow Executive Team members to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, budgets, and policies.


The Senior VP Affiliate Operations Responsibilities Include: 

  • Serve as the President of BMIS, MinistryWorks and ACG, LLC and report monthly to their board of directors on the operational results of the companies, including reviewing the financial results weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually to make the most informed judgments and decisions in conformance with established annual operational and strategic plans.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the Chairman and President and company leaders with respect to new and emerging trends, opportunities, threats, and company alternatives and initiatives regarding agency and broker practices.  This includes focusing on long-term trends and outlook, and competitive intelligence.

  • Lead the establishment of operational and strategic long-range plans, both of which will carry out the mission of these companies.  

  • Partner with Brotherhood Mutual and all of the affiliates to provide product lineups to enable these organizations to increase their service and profitability.  In particular, partner with Ministry Works to allow the launching of an Administrative Service Organization (ASO) function to serve the employee benefit needs of Brotherhood Mutual customers and prospects.

  • Connect with company agents, key accounts, and prospects to build relationships and to convey information about trends and product/service information to these constituents.  Influence ACG partners to work together to create robust automation and marketing programs to allow each individual agency to “punch above their weight class” in service and value proposition.

  • Exemplify the corporate mission and core competencies expected of an officer of Brotherhood Mutual.

  • Develop deeper connectivity with Remodel Health to enable the offering of their product across the BMIC enterprise.

  • Responsible for ensuring that sufficient sales, underwriting, marketing, pricing, and claim handling systems, processes, communication channels, and personnel are in place to drive extensive and sustainable (profitable) growth for all product, service, and risk management lines of business to meet agency corporate strategic and operational vision and mission.

  • Assist in the placement and management of the aggregator program for the Agency Operations.  Including negotiation of placement and renewal of the carrier programs, developing relationships with carrier partners, and evaluating carrier products and coverages to effectively manage corporate insurance risk.

  • Oversee the establishment of policies and procedures that ensure quality service, fair dealing, and regulatory compliance relating to the underwriting, claims, sales, marketing, and pricing processes of all agency products.

  • Oversee the establishment of policies, procedures, and practices that ensure profitable operations from all products provided via the aggregator or broker operations within established parameters.

  • Ensure appropriate strategies are in place to build mindshare of the companies’ brands across all desired marketing channels, including social media and advertising and that systems, processes, and personnel are efficiently and effectively utilized to grow revenue, market share, and surplus.

  • Ensure that strategies are developed and implemented to maintain a healthy and loyal distribution system that includes agent business partners and the growth and perpetuation of American Church Group ventures. 

  • Develop/Maintain guidelines, benchmarks, and metrics for all product offerings and ensure that data mining, predictive analytics, and other tools are effectively utilized to provide company management with actionable business intelligence. 

  • Review agency operation budgets and maintain costs within established budget parameters. 

  • Monitor organizational structure and operational functioning for compliance with current by-laws as approved by the Affiliate Boards of Directors.

  • Direct the training, development, advancement, and empowerment of assigned department personnel to attain their career goals while furthering the companies’ missions.

  • Complete other projects as assigned.


What You Bring: 

Education & Experience

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field.

  • A JD, CPA, MBA, or equivalent degree is desired.

  • The CPCU designation is desired.

  • Must have at least 10 years of experience in Agency Operations.

  • Must have at least 10 years of prior management experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must possess broad knowledge of Brotherhood Mutual, ACG, BMIS, MinistryWorks, and other company operations. 

  • Advanced knowledge of agency operations, policy forms and endorsements, pricing strategy, insurance operations, and corporate branding strategy and architecture. 

  • Must be able to make independent decisions.

  • Must be able to develop creative solutions to problems and be comfortable working in a fluid environment. 

  • Must have the ability to motivate and lead others.

  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrate the ability to communicate complex information in an understandable manner.

  • Must have the ability to handle difficult and confrontational situations in a diplomatic manner and use negotiation skills in the resolution of underwriting, claims, and agency differences.  

  • Must be able to represent the companies in a professional manner.

  • Must have the ability to effectively present information to small and large groups of people in both formal and informal settings.

  • Must have the ability to instruct and train others. 

  • Must be able to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and have a general understanding of all automated processing systems and workflows. 

  • Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department staff members.

  • Because the company’s niche is the church and related ministries market, and because effective service requires a thorough understanding of this market, persons in this position must be familiar with church operations and must conduct themselves in a manner that will neither alienate nor offend persons within this target niche.
