Meet Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company:

For more than 100 years Brotherhood Mutual has insured  America’s churches and related ministries. From our perspective, insurance is more than a commercial endeavor. It’s a platform to accomplish our mission of Advancing the Kingdom by serving the Church.

What does it mean to be a mutual insurance company?

A mutual insurance company is not owned by shareholders, but rather by our policyholders—the churches and ministries we serve. Policyholders’ premium dollars help protect and rebuild ministries in the wake of life’s storms.  We recognize that every dollar of premium comes from the tithes and offerings of our ministries.

At Brotherhood Mutual, we hold ourselves accountable to our policyholders, and the promise that we’ll be here for them when they need us most. Today, Brotherhood Mutual insures more than 65,000 churches and related ministries and offers its MinistryFirst property and liability coverages in 47 states and the District of Columbia. The intentions of the company’s founders live on in an organization that still cares about protecting its ministry customers from fires and storms—and much more.

Leadership Team

Brotherhood Mutual's leadership team is made up of people who know your needs and design products and services to meet them. Here are some of the characteristics that make them distinctive:

  • Long-Term Experience | Our executive team members have served at Brotherhood Mutual for an average of 18 years. This experience gives them a firm understanding of the issues facing Christian ministries.

  • Industry Designations | Not only have our leaders earned industry designations, such as the CIC and CPCU, but several of them also have held significant positions in state and national insurance industry organizations.

  • Commitment to Ministry | Everyone on the leadership team is active in a church or related ministry. For these people, such activity is more than a market niche—it's a personal commitment.
