What it's Like to Live in Grapevine, Texas:
Sandwiched in between the big cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, you will find Grapevine, Texas, which is a suburb of the DFW metroplex. Grapevine has a wonderful community that offers a safe and friendly environment. It is very good for families and children because of its excellent school system. The people are kind and welcoming, and the area is very well-developed but still offers portions with that old Texas charm.
Speaking of old charm, the city of Grapevine is packed full of history. The community did a wonderful job of growing and progressing the city forward while still maintaining the older architecture and attractions. There is the beautifully preserved Historic Main Street, which offers 80 local restaurants, shops, art galleries, and more. If you are looking for a ride into town, you can hop on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, connected to Grapevine Main, the gateway to downtown where historic charm meets urban spirit. The recently-added TexRail system now connects downtown Grapevine with both downtown Fort Worth and DFW Airport, which has connections to downtown Dallas and beyond. If you are, in fact, looking for a more urban activity, check out Grapevine Mills Mall, which contains more than 180 stores, a theater, a bowling alley, and over 30 restaurants. Here you will also find fun and even educational activities at the Sea Life Grapevine Aquarium and Legoland Discovery Center. Other nearby attractions include Great Wolf Lodge, The Gaylord Texan, and Southlake Towne Center, and Texas Motor Speedway is a short drive to Northwest.
Grapevine also has a beautiful nature scene. For some outdoor fun, visit Lake Grapevine for activities like water sports, hiking, camping, mountain biking, and even a trip to the floating water park. In addition, there are lots of annual town fairs to attend. Especially in the winter months, Grapevine is a sight to behold, as it is nicknamed the Christmas capital of Texas. The community goes all out with the events and the decorations, using not just thousands but millions of Christmas lights to radiate the city.
With a prime location and a close-knit community, Grapevine has much to offer no matter what you are looking for. When it comes to entertainment, the options are endless. This city would make a wonderful place to settle down in with its family-friendly nature, safe environment, and charm.
