Weekly Attendance: 180
Neighborhood: Culver City, California
The role: The Teaching Pastor’s main roles will be to see broken people restored to God’s perfect design for them through faithful proclamation of the gospel, helping them to see how God’s Word is relevant to their daily lives, growing in their understanding of their role in the local church, and the Church’s role in the world.
Meet Collective Church:
Collective Church is a community of imperfect people pursuing God’s perfect plan and we want others to experience the same life-changing love of Jesus we have.
We are regionally focused on the Westside and endeavor to be a church community of responsible followers of Jesus, family members, stewards, and disciple-makers.
In the fall of 2014, a handful of people began gathering together on a weekly basis to pray about planting a regionally-focused church on LA’s Westside. We imagined a church community marked by love and authenticity, that existed as a family, with a high level of commitment to one another and to making disciples of Jesus.
Fourteen months later, we launched as a fully expressed church community we called Collective Church. The word "collective," in its adjective form, speaks of something that is shared or done by all members of a group. In light of how the church is described in the New Testament, the name “Collective Church” is admittedly a little redundant. We're totally okay with that.
Where We're Headed
We want to see the Westside changed forever by Jesus. We don’t presume we’re the key to that happening, but we definitely want to play a part in it. We are absolutely committed to introduce people to Jesus and see them in a growing relationship with Him.
We endeavor to build relationships with one another and our neighbors on the Westside, and help one another explore what it looks like to live for Jesus in a broken world.
About the Teaching Pastor:
Collective Church is a non-denominational, regionally-focused church community that launched Sunday gatherings in the fall of 2015 on the Westside of Los Angeles. By any standard we are a healthy church community with very high levels of engagement and a particular emphasis on community, mission, and discipleship. We are seeking to cultivate a culture of maturing believers that are responsible in four spheres of relationship: 1) To Jesus, as His followers, 2) to His church as family members, 3) to all we have been given, as stewards, and 4) to the world and the mission of God, as disciple-makers.
In light of that, the Teaching Pastor’s main roles will be to see broken people restored to God’s perfect design for them through faithful proclamation of the gospel, helping them to see how God’s Word is relevant to their daily lives, growing in their understanding of their role in the local church, and the Church’s role in the world.

What it's like to live in Culver City, California:
Westside of Los Angeles, California
According to the LA Times, the Westside of Los Angeles is populated by roughly 530,000 people living in 23 neighborhoods across 100 square miles. If the Westside were a city, it would be the 5th largest in the state.
In Los Angeles, the Westside is geographically and culturally distinct. We consider it unique in its potential to serve as a strategic platform for kingdom advancement throughout the rest of LA and beyond.
Creativity on the Westside is professionally expressed as much in entrepreneurship as in the arts. There is a large tech community found in “Silicon Beach” (Santa Monica/Venice Beach/Playa Vista) and in the surrounding area (Culver City). This part of the greater Los Angeles area tends to be spiritual but not into Jesus, with no large sense of cultural Christianity.
