Meet Crosspoint Church:
"When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices..."
In 1928, a small group of Christ followers began to gather on the porch of a sweet woman living in West University Place, which was then a rural neighborhood near Houston surrounded by fields and farms. What began as a small gathering soon became West University Baptist Church. Early in the 21st century, a church in the neighboring community of Bellaire closed its doors, leaving a great property in a prime location vacant. Seeing an opportunity to extend their reach with the gospel of Jesus Christ, the leadership of WUBC purchased the property at cost from a developer who was part of their church family, and started a new campus, called Crosspoint Church - Bellaire. After 15 years, both campuses became flourishing centers of ministry to the surrounding community and beyond, partnering together for many activities and programs, while also maintaining their own campus personality. As God blessed these two campuses, the leadership of WUBC felt God move them to create a unifying umbrella ministry that would not only unite the two campuses under one banner, but would expand to formally include partnerships that had been developing for decades with local non-profits, other local churches, and international ministry partners. The CityRise Network was born in 2019 as a group of campuses, organizations, and individuals with one common goal- lifting our city and the world by generously giving the gospel of Jesus Christ. Proverbs 11:10 says, "When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices." The leadership of the CityRise Network believes that God has allowed the ministries of West University Baptist Church and Crosspoint Church - Bellaire to prosper in incredible ways, and they are eager to share that blessing with the city and the world through strategic partnerships. With new campuses and new partnerships on the horizon, we are excited to see how God will continue to use our people to impact the world by making disciples wherever He leads.
