The Role: The primary goal of the Executive Pastor is to partner with the Senior Pastor to lead the staff and congregation of Fair Oaks Church as a key part of the Leadership Team.

Fair Oaks Church has a rich history of God leading generations of people to follow Jesus in this region since 1952. It has always been a Jesus church, proclaiming the life-giving message of Christ and seeing generations of lives transformed by his grace.

Since 2009, Fair Oaks has belonged to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC).
It’s a unique family of 600 churches held closely together through relationships, a shared philosophy of ministry, beliefs and values, and a deep commitment to sharing the Gospel of Jesus and making disciples.

About the Executive Pastor:

The primary goal of the Executive Pastor is to partner with the Senior Pastor to lead the staff and congregation of Fair Oaks Church as a key part of the Leadership Team. The Executive Pastor will encourage and lead the staff and congregation to flourish in a growing relationship with Jesus, and exercise humility, love, and model Christ-like servant leadership. He/She will work to create a positive, healthy, engaging staff culture at Fair Oaks that is consistent with our Vision, Mission, & Values.


The Executive Pastor Will: 

  • Implement the vision of the Senior Pastor and help to establish our values & build culture.

  • Provide leadership, development, and oversight to the campus staff, ministries & resources.

  • Oversee and guide the staff and campus day-to-day operations.

  • Oversee operations staff and ensure ops are effective, and legally & ethically compliant.

  • Oversee the annual budget and finance department including bookkeepers while keeping our

    elders and Senior Pastor aware of financial health of the congregation.

  • Implement systems and processes for our staff to work efficiently and effectively.

  • Oversee the evaluation of staff, ensuring that they are accountable to their ministry goals,

    pursuing spiritual, emotional, and relational health, and continued leadership development.

  • Oversee generosity initiatives with the Senior Pastor to create a culture of growing generosity.

  • Assist in leading: Baptisms, Communion, Staff Meetings, Prayer, Retreats as part of campus life.

  • Perform weddings, funerals, provide pastoral care to staff, congregation and community

  • Lead the campus staff to develop & disciple leaders and volunteers.

  • Develop annual strategic plans for the church with Senior Pastor, Elders, & Leadership Team.

  • Bonus: Can effectively teach and preach the Bible in weekend services. Can be a part of the

    primary teaching team for weekend worship services & special events (up to 10-15x per year).


What you Bring: 

Education & Experience

  • Have 5-10 years of pastoral leadership experience as an Executive or Campus Pastor 

  • Have a Seminary background. M.Div. preferred, or willing to pursue M.Div. desired.

  • Have a desire to be ordained as a pastor in the EPC.

Personal Characteristics

  • Have a healthy, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Are active in All-Staff, prayer, retreats, Elder, and other team meetings as needed.

  • Are faithful in your commitment to worship, serving, groups, and giving at Fair Oaks Church.

  • Contribute to the overall good of Fair Oaks Church & our efforts to serve locally & globally.

  • A dynamic leader, team-builder and team player that can create a healthy team culture.

  • A leader of leaders and has a winsome, attractive personality.

  • Experienced in recruiting, developing, motivating and empowering others to join the team.

  • Not intimidated at the idea of leading a church of 1-2k+ as well as leading a campus staff.

  • An excellent communicator able to deliver relevant, Biblical messages in a variety of settings.

  • A self-starter but thrive in collaboration with others on a team.

  • Focused, reliable, attentive to detail and follow through.

  • Humble, teachable and committed to a growth mindset.

  • Hard-working but love to have fun.

  • Disciplined in pursuit of your own spiritual health and personal/professional development.

  • Able to prioritize & model a healthy work life balance for the good of the church & your family.

  • Passionate about evangelism and reaching unchurched people with the good news of Jesus.
