Meet First Christian Church:

The First Christian Church began its ministry in 1865, the same year Lee surrendered to Grant at Appomattox, President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated, and slavery was abolished by the 13th amendment. The city of Iowa Falls was only 10 years old, and the nation itself was only 89.

The First Christian Church originally met in the homes of its members, later moving to the G.A.R. Hall until erecting a church building in 1902 at the corner of Oak and Hickory Streets. That building was destroyed on August 28, 1948 by an explosion. On December 17, 1950 the current site was dedicated to the Glory of God.

Throughout its history, the First Christian Church has been committed to a belief that the Church is not a building or an address.  The Church is people...equipped to serve, meeting the needs of people everywhere in Jesus name. At First Christian Church, we believe that Jesus continues to communicate His message of love, acceptance and forgiveness through people like you and me by keeping it real, relevant and relational. FCC is a community of real people sharing real lives. We believe the Word of God remains the only compass by which one can chart life's path. Whether you are a church veteran or you are newly considering the claims of Christ, you can fit in at FCC. Come as you are, even if you haven’t been to church in awhile.
