About the Worship Pastor
The Worship Pastor maximizes the impact of the weekend services by drawing people into the presence of God through powerful worship music, leading and shepherding worship teams, overseeing all aspects of planning and execution in order to stay musically in line with the process of the ministry, communicating effectively with worship team volunteers and other volunteers that support and align with the worship ministry, and by contributing to the creative process.
The role will:
Work collaboratively, consistently, and relationally with the Senior Pastor in the development of worship services and overall worship at Grace.
Create a worship environment and choose music that honors the multicultural and multigenerational nature of our church’s ministry.
Provide engaging, clear communication and spiritual leadership from the stage, drawing people into God’s presence through effective, excellent, and powerful worship.
Build teams by providing leadership, coaching, and development for musicians within the church, and by expanding the leadership base of the ministry by identifying, inspiring, and mobilizing future worship leaders, musicians, and vocalists.
Lead a weekly service planning meeting and oversee preparation of service details using Planning Center.
Direct the daily activities of the Worship & Arts Department staff.
What you bring:
Education & Experience
The ideal candidate will have five or more years of worship leadership experience. They will also have experience in a church setting similar to Grace Community Church, with an understanding of Grace’s culture and philosophy of worship.
Is loving toward people, is humble in character, and has a solid walk with Jesus.
Is relational and inspiring in upfront communications.
Is warm and engaging in interpersonal communications.
Is personally positive and outgoing.
Values multicultural diversity.
Has stellar vocal skills, presence as a worship leader, and a strong music background in worship.
