About the Ministry Operations Director:

We are looking for a results-driven and detail-oriented Ministry Operations Director to join Holy Family HTX, a growing Episcopal Church for people without a church.

The Ministry Operations Director is responsible for leading, managing, and holding ministry teams accountable for achieving agreed-upon commitments.

The right candidate will have an instinctive ability to recognize, attract, retain, and develop high performing ministry team leaders. This dedicated leader will develop and maintain control of all ministry operations and will be an experienced and efficient leader with excellent people skills, community acumen, and an exemplary work ethic. The ideal individual will also be a strategic planner with the essential ability to specify, strategize, and define ministry opportunities.

The Ministry Operations Director Will: 

  • Oversee daily operations of ministry teams, make adjustments as necessary, and ensure that each division is consistently working together in the same direction.

  • Attract, retain, and develop high-performing ministry team leaders (right person/right seat).

  • Teach the Ten Leader Commitments to leaders.

  • Give clear direction to ministry team leaders.

  • Provide necessary tools to ministry team leaders.

  • Manage these processes: first time visitor follow up, enrollment, guest to member, and others as assigned.

  • Maintain a set of key performance measures that provide the Pastoral Leader and Leadership Team an ongoing dashboard to gauge the health of all ministries.

  • Execute the strategic ministry plan (90 days at a time), achieving or exceeding objectives.

  • Collaborate and stay on the same page with the Pastoral Leader & Leadership Team at all times.

  • Turn ideas into functional ministry plans.

  • Oversee congregational care of preexisting community members.

  • Implement an annual volunteer celebration.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring: 

Education & Experience

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required based on job experience.

  • Minimum of three years work experience building high performing teams preferred.

  • Proficiency in Mac OS (Pages, Numbers, Keynote).

    • Has proven results as an Operations Director, organizer, or a similarly relevant role.

    • Has experience building high performing teams, and is especially able to recognize and cultivate rising talent.

    • Is able to transition from strategic-level conversations to day-to-day operations.

    • Has a record of success holding people accountable.

    • Possesses excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

    • Possesses analytical skills to evaluate data and make operational decisions.

    • Possesses the ability to make sound, critical decisions under pressure.

    • Is comfortable receiving feedback within a collaborative team.

    • Has strong emotional intelligence and awareness of strength and weakness.

    • Has the capacity to wrestle with complexity and to strategically navigate ambiguous situations with integrity, diplomacy, professionalism, and emotional intelligence.

    • Has experience or the capacity to articulate and understand spiritual frameworks and needs among persons who do not currently participate in a church community.

  • Must embody the 10 Holy Family Leader Commitments:
