Meet Pennington Park Church:

Our history begins with our sending church, College Park Church in northern Indianapolis, who sought to ignite a passion to follow Jesus throughout the greater Indy-metro region. In its young life, Pennington Park Church has continued to see God’s faithfulness and providential hand working in our people and city, and we continue to respond with faithfulness as we consider the future God has for us.

Our Church’s Timeline

  • 2014 | College Park Church holds a prayer service in Fishers and considers Hamilton County as a future church location.

  • 2015 | College Park Fishers holds its first service at Fall Creek Intermediate School.

  • 2016 | College Park Fishers secures 21 acres of property at Pennington Road and 126th Street.

  • 2017 | Continuing to grow, the congregation moves to Fall Creek Junior High School.

  • 2018 | A groundbreaking ceremony is held at the church’s new property.

  • 2019 | College Park Fishers formally becomes an independent church and members approve a change of name to Pennington Park Church.

  • 2020 | Pennington Park Church holds its first services in the new building located at Pennington Road and 126th Street.

 

About the Executive Pastor:

The Executive Pastor will serve in a vital role with several important responsibilities and will be responsible for implementing and executing the vision cast by the Lead Pastor along with assisting the Lead Pastor in leading and directing the staff. This role also includes the responsibility to oversee the church’s operations and implement processes to maximize efficiency. The Executive Pastor will assist in key ministry areas of the church depending on his passion, gifts, and experience and will come alongside the staff to support, coach, and help maximize their gifts.

The Executive Pastor Will: 

Provide oversight of all business and administrative-related aspects of the church to ensure effective operations.

  • Oversee human resources operations, performance reviews, and collaborate with the Lead Pastor to hire, reposition, transition, and dismiss staff as necessary.

  • Oversee budget/finance, insurance, and legal aspects.

  • Ensure each ministry has what it needs to operate well and fits the mission of the church through day-to-day operational management and guidance and problem solving with the ministry leads as needed. 

  • Review, create, and implement policies and procedures to ensure the effective operations of the church.

  • Oversee, alongside the Communications Coordinator, all communication avenues such as the website, weekly church-wide emails, social media, etc. to ensure the vision for communications is effectively implemented.

Manage the staff.

  • Oversee staff reports for support, ministry evaluation, goal setting, development, mentoring, and the end of year evaluation process.

  • Lead the staff meetings for the purpose of alignment and cohesion among the staff.

  • Provide support to the Lead Pastor and directional team in handling difficult issues that arise within the congregation.

Implement strategic ministry by leading or assisting in various ministry areas.

  • Implement the vision of the church through executing the three-fold strategy (Belong, Grow, Multiply) across the ministries of PPC.

  • Strategically implement church priorities in key events, ministries, and programs while working alongside other staff members.

  • Lead and facilitate the deacons who serve in various functions throughout the church.

  • Assist in the Biblical Counseling Ministry as needed.

  • Work alongside the Discipleship Pastor and the Director of Women’s Ministry to build out a clear and cohesive discipleship strategy that involves women’s ministry, men’s ministry, small groups, equip classes, and our shepherding model.

  • Assist in communion, baptisms, prayer/worship nights, member meetings, membership classes, counseling, and being available to teach in other adult equipping classes and forums.

What You Bring: 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • 5-10+ years of experience in an administrative or management role.

  • Knowledgeable background and experience in financial budgets, HR, and operations.

  • Experience serving in the church in high-level leadership and ministry roles.

  • Ordained pastor is preferred but not required.

  • Reliable, trustworthy, and excellent at following through on details.

  • Is a “doer” - able to execute given tasks and visions.

  • Able to work collaboratively.

  • Proven ability to lead leaders and develop others.

  • Able to use appropriate judgment, discretion, and sensitivity and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

  • Lives out a commitment to prayer and the study of God’s Word.

Located on the northeast side of Indianapolis, Fishers, Indiana is one of the fastest-growing suburbs with nearly 100,000 residents. With two large high schools rated #10 and #12 in the state and safe communities throughout the city, Money Magazine ranked Fishers as its Best Place to Live in 2017. 

A growing economy, vast urban amenities, and a wealth of recreational opportunities are just a few of the factors that make Fishers an excellent community. The downtown area, which has been redeveloped, has a variety of restaurants and boutiques, and the city hosts a popular farmers market every Saturday that was recently voted one of Indiana’s best. 

The city recently invested $40 million in a new restaurant and entertainment district called The Yard, which has brought 18 new restaurants to the heart of Fishers. Entertainment abounds with IKEA, Top Golf, and an outdoor walking mall called Hamilton Town Center. In addition to featuring restaurants and entertainment, Fishers has emphasized preserving its green space by featuring twenty-four parks and just over a hundred miles of nature and multi-purpose trails. 

Just twenty miles away from downtown Indianapolis, Fishers is a short commute to Indianapolis Colts football games, Indiana Pacer basketball games, and other entertainment options.
