Meet St. Andrews Church and School:

St. Andrew's Church was started in 1952 in conjunction with St. Andrew’s Kindergarten (which later was renamed  St. Andrew’s Weekday  School).   St.  Andrew’s is a place where people come to know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference.

Everyone is welcome at St. Andrew's. We believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts, and use them for God's glory. We provide a place for sound, Biblical teaching where humor and application are always included.  For the last five years, Senior Pastor Michael Crocker has spearheaded the idea that to be an effective agent of change in the world, one must be deeply engaged in the activities of a community while maintaining a strong identity as a child of God.  This heart is readily seen in those who call St. Andrew’s “home.”

The church is located in a small community inside San Antonio known to many locals by the last digits of our zip code, 09. Families who live here trace their lineage back to the founding of Texas and San Antonio. There is a deep sense of loyalty to the community, which finds most kids who go off to college coming back to begin their families. It is not uncommon to see four generations of a family at church. Our families have great philanthropic hearts, willing to support when asked. There has been a communal expectation of going to church, but a relationship with Jesus is another matter. The business minds and entrepreneurial spirit that exists in our community will do amazing things for God when we unlock the Kingdom potential that exists in our community.

About the Executive Pastor:

The Executive Pastor is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and will oversee all administrative and financial affairs of the Church.  Under the leadership of the Senior Pastor, the candidate will contribute to the pursuit of our mission and vision by bringing the needed structure to fruition.  This role will work closely with the Senior Pastor and other members of the Senior Leadership Team to implement our vision and values.

Key responsibilities include oversight of all day-to-day operations, including staff, financial reporting, facilities, IT, and HR.  Working under the Senior Pastor, the Executive Pastor assumes the role of Chief of Staff to help implement the mission and vision for the Church as established by the Senior Pastor and the Church Board, resourcing and leading staff to appropriate success within their roles.

Profile

The Executive Pastor should be a spiritually mature Christian and gifted in Leadership and Administration with strong communication and people skills.  They will have at least a bachelor’s degree preferably with a focus area of  Business or Ministry, with previous experience as a senior leader/manager in a comparable setting (business, Church, not-for-profit).  They will have a track record of leading and building successful teams in an employment setting.

If you like to spend your time teaching, studying, and counseling, this is not the position for you.  If you enjoy leading continuous improvement efforts, managing key projects, running a productive meeting, and helping to create and monitor strategic plans and objectives, this could be your ideal role.  We need someone who can handle the times when they are the buffer between the Senior Pastor and the day-to-day “issues” that are often brought to the attention of leadership. This role does not require expertise in finance; however, you do need to be competent in budgeting, monitoring, and reporting.
