In essence, the Executive Assistant will serve as an organizational backbone for the Operations Team.

Vanderbloemen is a retained executive search firm, serving churches and Christian organizations in all parts of the United States and internationally. Its central office is in the heart of Houston.

Our clients come from over 50 different denominations or types of churches, as well as Christian non-profits and relief organizations.

The firm represents churches ranging in attendance from 30 to over 70,000. Churches such as Life.Church, Central Christian Church, Harvest Bible Chapel, Cross Church, and Peachtree Presbyterian are representative of those who choose to retain Vanderbloemen to help find key staff.

While Vanderbloemen can staff any position at any size church, the bulk of our work is made up of searches for senior level staff. Searches involving Senior Pastor succession are an area of particular expertise.

In addition to search work, the firm also provides services in staff consulting, succession planning, and compensation analysis.

Growth at Vanderbloemen has been both rapid and sustained. Future growth is anticipated and planned for. This search represents one of several new positions at the firm. Vanderbloemen was also recently featured on the cover of Houstonia Magazine's Best Places to Work issue:

The Executive Assistant is a trusted, highly proficient individual. They will provide high-level support in a wide range of task, including the management of job search budgets, arranging of travel, and a variety of administrative duties. In essence, the Executive Assistant will serve as an organizational backbone for the Operations Team.

The Executive Assistant will: 

  • Personify ever increasing agility to quickly change courses and multitask, as new projects will present themselves on a daily basis.

  • All verbal and written communication should be done in a manner in line with wow-making excellence.

  • Ensure that information is being recorded accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.

  • Build a strong relationship with the Operations Team.

  • Coordinate Speaking Engagements and Travel Arrangements.

  • Schedule Meetings in various time zones.

  • Process expense reports and track spending.

  • Handle all incoming and outgoing mail.

  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Represent the Operations Team with clients, candidates, and staff, maintaining a professional and service-oriented attitude toward everyone.

  • Build strong relationships with the entire Vanderbloemen team.

  • Assist other Operations Administrative Support staff and other members of the Operations Team through cross-training and job sharing.

 

What you bring: 

  • The ideal candidate will likely have prior experience assisting an executive or senior leader in a business, church, or para-church ministry. He or she must be passionate about serving kingdom-minded organizations and recognize the meaning in this role. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be creative and enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven and results-driven. They will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with the ability to juggle and balance multiple priorities.

  • The Executive Assistant must have an entrepreneurial spirit and be an organizational builder. He or she will have excellent administrative skills with an innate attention to detail. They must possess a propensity for "yes" with the ability to gracefully multi-task and manage several projects at once. The Executive Assistant will be responsible for coordinating travel, scheduling appointments and meetings, communicating with clients and candidates, and proactively look for new ways to help serve Vanderbloemen with a customer-service driven attitude.
