About the NextGen Pastor:

The NextGen Pastor will oversee all ministry programming for birth through college, with direct involvement with ministry to high school students. They will create and collaborate on educational resources, based on family goals and developmental checkpoints and oversee the NextGen Ministry Department to ensure standards, resources and programming are consistent across all age categories (Birth through college, and beyond).


The NextGen Pastor Will:


  • Oversee the vision and direction for the Student programs, as they relate to children and adult programming and overall Westminster vision with the Middle School Director. 

  • Plan and execute all High School focused programming.

  • Oversee all age-specific staff and work to equip them for greater personal and ministry success.

  • As leader of the NextGen Team, plan, coordinate and execute quarterly goals for and with the entire team.

  • Serve as a link between the various age-specific programs to ensure continuity and consistent messaging throughout the department and the church.

  • Work to update existing infrastructure to stay current with over-arching age-specific ministry trends (Theater, classrooms, supplies, etc.)

  • Assess long-term vision for NextGen Ministries and work to incorporate ideas and insights from the team into planning.

  • Create a long-term ministry path for children, students and families that eliminate redundancy and reinforces the goals and supports parents. 

  • Oversee, recruit and equip volunteer staff for college ministry.

  • Develop ongoing relationships with college students that encourage healthy life and spiritual growth.

  • Resource and develop curriculum for the college community group structure.

  • Provide oversight and encouragement to key volunteers leading college group meetings and events.


  • Makes Westminster Chapel home, and maintains the convictions of WC’s mission, core values, and ministry strategy.

  • Accepts and adheres to the Chapel’s policies, procedures, and aligns ministry goals with these directives.

  • Commitment to staying informed and educated on best ministry practices.

  • On site availability for staff/congregational interaction and working together as a team is important.  Work time to be on and off the WC campus, as needed (i.e. school visits, discipleship and volunteer meetings, outreach, etc.), and expected to be on site for all pertinent meetings. 

  • Attends staff meetings, retreats, and other church functions, as directed.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationship with students, parents, volunteers, and staff.

  • Ability to work in concert with Facilities, Operations, and Finance respective to ministry area events.

  • Ability to adapt ministry to become more inclusive and diverse.

  • Ability to work independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving, exercising confidentiality whenever appropriate.

  • Excellent oral and written skills to effectively communicate in large and small groups of adults and students.

  • Displays working knowledge of stewardship and demonstrates fiscal responsibility through proper planning and budgeting of ministry programs and initiatives.
