About the Organization:
FBC Decatur was chartered 175 years ago to serve the region of Decatur and currently averages 720 in worship and Sunday school attendance. The church currently provides two simultaneous worship services, a predominately traditional/blended service with choir, orchestra, piano and organ with 600 in attendance and a relaxed acoustic-led service aimed at new attendees. It is anticipated that upon hire of the Minister of Music, service times will be adjusted for an early (830-9am) and 11am service. Within the city and community, FBC is uniquely known for its authenticity, excellence in music, and servant-leadership.
The church seeks a Minister of Music who can be highly effective in relating to both traditional and modern demographics, while embodying the vision and beliefs of FBC Decatur in their ministerial duties.

About the Position:
The Minister of Music will seek excellence while leading a comprehensive ministry of music and worship to include congregation, choir, special music and orchestra. Individual will be a pastor first, with the ability to shepherd with humility, and a worship leader next, with capability to lead the congregation into a spirit-filled worship experience.
In essence, this position will lead all weekend worship services and maintain oversight of individuals and elements involving the worship experience. The ideal candidate will value both blended/traditional and contemporary elements, and discern and complement the worship culture of each service at FBC Decatur.
What We Are Searching For:
This individual will be a gifted musician possessing a servant–leadership mindset. Will possess an aptitude for recruiting, training, inspiring, and mobilizing individuals and teams. Minister will have a pastoral heart, a self-motivated work ethic, a strong familiarity with a diverse range of worship music, and an appreciation for intergenerational worship.
Requires BS/BA with experience within a church music program. Post graduate work from an accredited seminary or university music program a plus.

- Working knowledge of audio/visual technology for worship.
- Comfortable with in-ear system.
