The role: The Pastor of Connections and Groups will be overseeing major ministries that assist us in connecting the church to people, people to the church, and people to each other.

Grace is a non-denominational, Reformed-leaning church that is passionate about reaching people.They worship in four local campuses in Central Florida, with a mission to help people take their next step toward Christ. Their model gives them the strength and resources of a larger church but the community and neighborhood feel of a small one. They have in-person pastors and leaders at all of their campuses, allowing them to connect with people and teach the Bible in ways that speak to each unique community. It also allows them to resource and train as many next generations leaders as possible for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

About the Pastor of Connections and Groups:
The Pastor of Connections and Groups will be primarily, as their name suggests, a connector of people. They will be the life thread from visitors and members to the rest of the church, striving to connect them in three major ways: to each other, in small groups; to connect the church with people, through volunteering; and finding ways for people to connect with the church, through membership. Small groups, volunteering, and membership are at the heart of this role. Practically, they will oversee guest ministries, groups, volunteerism, assimilation, and membership.
The ideal candidate will be a highly emotionally intelligent person, a people person, incredibly relational, and good with systems. They will also be a great developer of leaders.
The Pastor of Connections and Groups will:
- Create a clear pathway of assimilation.
- Prove success at assimilation, through people becoming members, joining groups, and increasing volunteering.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and oversee volunteer directors for each of these major areas
- Operate fully as a strong leader, who is able to cast vision, propel the connections, groups, and assimilation processes forward through their leadership, shepherding, encouragement, and challenging as needed. They will be much more than a “doer.”

A bachelor’s degree is required for this position.
The ideal candidate for this position likely has three to five years of ministry experience. They have a high level of emotional intelligence. They have experience and a proven record of equipping high capacity leaders. They have a track record of handing off ministries, creating systems, and are highly skilled at connecting new people to ministry through dedicated and committed service.
- Has an active walk with Christ, and consistently exhibiting a Christ-like character
- Possesses an authentic, genuine spirit in their faith, work, and relationships
- Is highly organized with the ability to troubleshoot, and create processes and systems with a strong eye for detail
- Is strongly gifted in the area of leading/shepherding, with team building and impersonal skills
- Is highly emotionally intelligent, with a skill and gift for listening, understanding, and connecting people with each other and in ministries at the church.
