Grace Family Church (Grace Family) is a non-denominational, Bible-based church in Tampa, Florida with a diverse, multi-cultural population. Grace Family has a passion for all people to experience the love and Jesus Christ and to discover God’s plan for their life. Grace Family has a strong vision and track record for reaching the unchurched and has become renowned for its innovations and willingness to try nearly anything to reach those far from God. Craig Altman, is the founding Senior Pastor of Grace Family. Pastor Craig is highly involved with the Association of Related Churches (ARC). Additionally, Pastor Craig has been involved with John Maxwell's leadership network. His exposure to and involvement in these networks is reflective of his leadership capacity and style.
The trademark of Grace Family is a heart for lost people and a laser focus on the mission of reaching the unreached. The average attendance exceeds 9,000 across 5 different campuses, with a significant number of the church having been previously unchurched. The church has posted an annual positive growth rate of almost every year of its existence.
The Student Pastor will lead the entire Grace Family Student Ministries - United on all campuses that reach students both inside and beyond the walls of the church. The Student Pastor is directly responsible for the oversight of all United students, staff and volunteers and strives toward sustaining a healthy, life-transforming student ministry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of growth in a large church context with progressive leadership responsibility within a thriving student ministry. Also, the Student Pastor will be expected to develop the growth of students in both numbers and depth in a way that reflects the overall vision of Grace Family Church. The successful candidate will maintain strong relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and area schools and will relate to a wide diversity of students. A demonstrated strong aptitude in teaching and leadership gift are equally important in this role.
While graduate level education is not a predominating factor for the selection of the new Student Pastor at Grace Family Church, a bachelor’s degree and seminary training is preferred. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and will have a strong background in teaching, student ministry development, team building, discipleship and student ministry formation strategies with proven success in implementing these strategies. The candidate will be a strong and secure leader who is humble but decisive in their leadership.
They must have a proven track record of student ministry leadership, organizational development and effective communication. It will be necessary to have strong people skills and a driving passion to reach students far from God and help them grow deeper in their faith. The candidate must embrace the ability to lead within a community of high-level leaders and promote innovation through collaboration. In addition, the individual will show an ability to connect across generations. Proven experience in a progressively responsible Student Ministry, dynamic teaching, creative thinking, problem solving, and collaborative leadership in a fast-paced innovative environment is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will have 3+ years experience in large church setting (2,000 – 3,000+ weekend attendance) and supervisory experience in a multi-staff and multi-site setting is preferred.
