About the Organization:
Founded by Mike and Kathy Leonzo and seven others families in 2000, Living Water Community Church is a thriving, Gospel-centered, multi-ethnic, non-denominational congregation with nearly a 1,000 in weekly attendance, located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It is a ministry that seeks to equip both adults and children to intentionally cross economic, societal and ethnic boundaries in order to introduce people to the transforming power of Jesus’ love.
After meeting at several temporary locations, Living Water acquired the grounds of the former Children’s Home of Harrisburg in 2007, which has greatly contributed to their steady growth of attendance, impacting diverse communities all throughout Harrisburg, including nearby Hershey.
With a passion and focus to bring ‘living water’ to a thirsty world, Living Water Community Church’s emphasis for authentic worship and building life-giving relationships are just a few of the reasons why it is poised to make a lasting impact for the cause of Christ for years to come.
About the Position:
The Worship and Creative Arts Pastor for Living Water Community Church will be an experienced worship leader whose pastoral heart for worship and compassion to invest in the lives of others is clearly evident in all that he does. The successful candidate will have the ability to lead with an instrument, to read and perform music, to direct a praise choir, along with leading and pastoring the worship team in song at all adult worship services.
The leadership of Living Water Community Church believes wholeheartedly that the Worship and Creative Arts Pastor will be a pastoral leader whose calling and character will be one others seek to follow, and that this position’s success is dependent on his commitment to worship competency, and not simply musical entertainment.
What We Are Searching For/Qualifications:
While education is not a predetermining factor in the selection of a new Worship and Creative Arts Pastor, the successful candidate must be one who has demonstrated 3-5 years of professional development and oversight in full-time worship and creative arts ministry. A Bachelor and/or Masters degree from an accredited Bible college, seminary or university could be preferred.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working and leading worship in a ministry setting that is multi-cultural and multi-generational. The candidate will have had experience as an effective pastor and leader of mid-size to large worship bands and teams, and demonstrated the ability to handle the responsibility of providing vision and mobilizing both volunteers and leaders in a thriving church of 500 attendees or more. The successful Worship and Creative Arts Pastor candidate must be able to play the keyboard or guitar (being able to play multiple instruments is a plus), audition and develop other musicians, and have experience working alongside production, technical, and media ministry staff members. Ideal candidate must have a competency in and growing knowledge of doctrinal understanding, including effective presentation of the gospel message, and how that is integrated into the worship service.
About the Location:
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania’s state capital, is perhaps best known for its assortment of historic museums and a nice waterfront strip along the Susquehanna River. Beyond downtown, residential and industrial areas spread across the river into Camp Hill and Mechanicsburg to the west. The city has some minor-league sports and other recreational amenities, and has a satellite town in Carlisle just 12 miles west, which is becoming a growing retail, commercial, and residential center for the entire region.
Harrisburg is in the Great Valley of the eastern foothills of the Allegheny Mountains. The landscape rises rapidly to the west into the main Allegheny ridge and becomes rolling to more level to the east. With thick deciduous forests that cover the mountains form east to south, along with the Blue Mountain ridge, Harrisburg does not experience as severe winters as those located in the north.
Having bounced back from economic distress in the 1980s, the city is now a vibrant hub for young families, thanks in large part to the annual Pennsylvania Farm Show, which serves as the largest indoor agriculture exposition in the U.S.
