About the Organization:
Lynwood Baptist Church traces its history back to 1959. They experienced significant growth in 1994 when Senior Pastor Mark Anderson joined the Lynwood Baptist staff. The church then relocated to their current location in Cape Girardeau, MO in 1998. Pastor Mark followed a calling to a church in Jackson MS in 2000.
Pastor Mark returned in 2008 and brought stability to the church culture and congregation. Due to this new sense of stability, Deacon Council (elder) governance was instituted in 2008 to remain stable and grounded. A few years later, their current Worship Pastor Gabe Martinez joined the team in 2016 and there was significant growth in every aspect of the church’s culture.
Lynwood Baptist is blessed with a wonderful location and facility, but where they gather is not the real definition of who they are. Lynwood is a church filled with people whose lives have been forever impacted and changed through their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They share a common fellowship, friendship, and focus as is described in Acts 2:42-47.
About the Position:
The Executive Pastor of Lynwood Baptist Church will assist the senior pastor in leading the church. The Executive Pastor will serve in an administrative role in both ministry and business functions of Lynwood Baptist Church. They will work closely with the Senior Pastor in this role.
The ideal candidate for Executive Pastor will have a spirit of godly caring for all church personnel, members, volunteers, and others who assist Lynwood Baptist Church.
The Executive Pastor will oversee the life and direction of the church under the direction of the Senior Pastor and Lynwood Deacon Council. This will require a firm grasp of the beliefs, values and strategy of Lynwood, as well as the ability to align staff and key leadership teams with its mission to “Engage all people to Experience Christ and Equip them for life”. The XP will ensure that the systems, practices, and policies of the church responsibly and effectively support its ministry activities.

At minimum, a bachelor’s degree is required for this position. A seminary degree or further theological training is a great bonus but not required for this role.
Although ministry experience is not required for this position, the ideal candidate will have some business experience and tech skills, with exposure to larger church environments and ministries. Experience with budgeting, finances, and planning is essential to this role.
