About the Organization:
Valley Grace Church exists to encourage believers in their private and public worship of God, to help them grow both personally and in community with Christ, and to help provide opportunities to serve Christ in His church and the world. It is a Grace Brethren Church, which is a local assembly of believers in Jesus Christ who are a part of the larger network of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches
The church is defined by its uncompromising biblical teaching. It is uniquely known for its acceptance of all who enter through its doors, and for exuding a family-friendly feel both within the walls of the church, and outside during its community outreach endeavors. With a strong foundation in teaching, Valley Grace seeks to continue its history of impact through missions-minded efforts, scripturally conservative teaching, generosity in giving, and effective weekend services.

About the Location:
Hagerstown lies at the gateway to the Western Maryland region and the Shenandoah Valley to the south. It serves as an entryway to the Baltimore and the Washington, D.C. areas as well as the “hub” of government, commerce, and recreation for the tri-state area. Based on the census from 2006, the city was one of the fastest growing in the country.
Historically, it was an important transportation center due to its location along major east-west and north-south routes and near a passage west through the Cumberland Gap. Today, Hagerstown is a pleasant mix of old and new with a notable downtown historic area and an unusually large concentration of pre–Civil War row homes. With close proximity to Washington D.C., there are attractive new suburbs mostly surrounding the northeast region, which differs to the working class areas that are closer to the main city. It is a very established community that is highly diverse in both age and race.
Entertainment includes minor-league baseball, the Hagerstown Speedway, and the nation’s oldest farmers market. Because of its strategic location, attractive cost of living, good labor force, and tax incentives, the area has developed a good base of light and medium industry. The city is home to The University System of Maryland at Hagerstown, Kaplan College, and Hagerstown Community College.
