114 Years, Covid & A New Pastor

Shiloh Baptist

With a 114 year history and a pandemic still making it’s impact, the search for Shiloh Baptist Church’s new Senior Pastor held some unique needs that Vanderbloemen realized early on. They are a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching church and a well-known landmark on the West End of the City of Plainfield, New Jersey. A community church located in a diverse neighborhood where it has remained throughout its rich 114-year history, this church serves as a shining light in its community following the Great Commission.

On August 7th, 2021 Shiloh Baptist Church elected Reverend Dr. Danielle L. Brown as the tenth Senior Pastor and the first woman to hold this position since the church’s founding in 1908. Dr. Brown takes great joy and satisfaction in learning, living, and preaching the gospel. She loves God, God’s church, and God’s people and counts it an honor and privilege to serve him in this position.

“What an absolute honor it was to be invited and trusted to help such a historic church find their next Senior Pastor. In search, we have the unique seat of casting a wide net, and then we diligently and earnestly pray for discernment as we vet out candidates through the lens of that particular church’s needs. Danielle Brown and her heart for ministry fit so well with the heart of Shiloh Baptist and it was great to be able to connect them together!” shared Executive Recruiting Manager, Brett Connolly

Dr. Brown is a natural leader with many years of experience developing and implementing ministry programs and strategies. She is passionate about mentorship and discipleship to develop the faith and community of leaders. Her spiritual gifts of preaching and teaching, along with her heart for people, will make her a great fit at Shiloh Baptist.

In addition to her work, Dr. Brown is active in her local community and serves on the local education board and Mayor’s strategic planning team. Dr. Brown has been the recipient of multiple awards and recognitions in the church and community. She is excited about the future and possibilities that abide at Shiloh Baptist Church. We are humbled to have partnered alongside Shiloh Baptist on this crucial hire and are excited to see how the Lord moves through their new leadership.
