Church of the City Hires Executive Pastor

NEW YORK, New York - Church of the City in the heart of New York has expanded its leadership team by bringing Matt Ro on as their new Executive Pastor. Church of the City is passionate about pursuing the tangible presence of God, practicing counter-formation in the way of Jesus, and living on sacrificial mission for the renewal of the city. They have a heart for pursuing Jesus in modern culture with those three passions in mind. 

Matt Ro has extensive pastoral experience, having planted and shepherded the largest Pan-Asian church in Atlanta. He served as lead pastor, raising up leaders within the church, before moving on to serve as the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Human Coalition. His desire to uplift and equip other pastors will make him a great fit for this executive pastor role. Matt is passionate about engaging with culture and with non-believers, which this role and Church of the City’s location will provide opportunities for.

As Executive Pastor, it will be Matt Ro’s role to shepherd and lead the church staff, foster the spiritual health of the team, and steward the church’s finances, all while living within the values of Church of the City. 

Matt and his wife of 15 years, Julie, are excited about this next season of ministry together alongside their three daughters. They are eager to follow the call of the Lord and see how he uses them in their time at Church of the City.
