MACON, Georgia - Northway Church in Georgia has expanded its leadership team by appointing Stephen Howard as their new Executive Pastor. Northway Church is committed to developing leaders who will take the Gospel to the city by serving, loving, and sacrificing with no limits. The Northway community firmly believes that when the Gospel transforms a life, it also transforms a home, a workplace, and a city, and they are committed to transforming their city with the Gospel.

Stephen has served at Northway as the Next Generation and Student Pastor since 2016, so he is deeply familiar with the Northway community. Prior to that, he served as an Associate Pastor at First Baptist Fairhope in Alabama for three years. Stephen also briefly served as a stint missionary in Romania, where he led Bible studies for young boys in foster care and other crisis situations, as well as organizing summer camp programs for orphaned youth. He is currently working on receiving his Masters of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

Eric Albert, Executive Search Consultant, shared about his experience working with Northway, saying “this is such a great church to work with because they knew what they needed and wanted, and Pastor Kevin Mills recognized that he needed a number of things taken off his plate to be able to vision cast, teach and mentor other young pastors. And that is exactly what Stephen brings for them. He already knows Northway's DNA and their families but also excels at helping Pastor Kevin make the most out of his time and energy. They are going to continue to be a dynamic duo!”

Stephen is ready for this opportunity to shepherd the Northway staff and church body. He, his wife Sarah, and their four-year-old, Norah, are excited to stay in Macon and pour more into their church community. Vanderbloemen is honored to have worked alongside Northway Church in furthering the transforming power of the Gospel in their community.
