Meet Trinity Church
Trinity is a place where faith, family, and friendships thrive. We believe God wants all people to know His great love and to be connected to a thriving community. Trinity, located at 1818 6th Ave in Rock Island, IL, is a historic church built in the 1860s that has been a place for believers to worship and share the message of the Kingdom of God. The church community consists of individuals from diverse backgrounds and life stages who are united in their desire to know Jesus and each other. We believe that God redeems their past and prepares their future, and they are committed to growing in their faith daily.

About the Senior Pastor
The Senior Pastor will fulfill Trinity Church’s mission of building a community where faith, family, and friendship thrive. This will entail providing spiritual guidance and support, developing and executing ministry, events, and outreach, leading liturgical services, and managing the church’s day-to-day operations.

The Senior Pastor’s responsibilities include:
- Provide spiritual guidance and support to members of the church and community
- Identify and develop leaders
- Lead worship services through Word and Sacrament
- Preach, teach, and disciple
- Oversee church staff, volunteers, and ministries
- Develop and execute outreach vision and programs
- Initiate and maintain meaningful relationships with church members and future church members
- Work with Wardens to guide the church into the future and oversee care of facilities


What you bring
The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Senior Pastor:
Education and experience
- Degree in theology (preferably MDiv or equivalent)
- 5+ years of experience as a pastor (prefer experience as a Sr. Pastor or significant leadership history
- Ordained within the Anglican tradition; otherwise ordained in a similar tradition with a willingness to be ordained within Anglicanism
Personal characteristics and qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational and administrative skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated
- Willing to work with our current Senior Pastor for a smooth transition

Living in Rock Island, IL, offers a peaceful, community-oriented atmosphere with a strong sense of connection. The city is home to beautiful parks, scenic views along the Mississippi River, and a rich history that fosters a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.
The Quad Cities is a region of four cities with about 220,000 people, described as midwestern. It has good schools, many restaurants and breweries, a minor league ballpark, lots of nature, a symphony, two universities, a good arts scene, and the Mississippi River runs through it. It is largely blue-collar with John Deere being a major employer, and less than 40% of people attend church, making it a ripe field for evangelism. The Quad Cities is also noted for having multiple distinctive downtown areas with various events and activities, unique businesses, ethnic festivals, a large farmer’s market, a variety of sporting events, museums, and art galleries. It’s a place that provides big city amenities with a small-town feel and doesn’t have the big city headaches.
