Matthew Johnson is the Lead Pastor of Lancaster Community Church in Lancaster, Ohio. He began his path in ministry as a youth pastor at the church where his parents pastored. It was there that he felt a call to join the staff at Lancaster Community Church, where the only position available at that time was Office Secretary. This role morphed into the development of the church's youth ministy, which he oversaw for the next few years.

When the need arose, Matthew was asked to fill the Executive Pastor role at Lancaster. He served in this capacity until he stepped in as the Lead Pastor in 2011.

Matthew talks with William about:

  • Strategies for churches to attract and retain attendees
  • How to lead from different levels on a staff team
  • The importance of supporting systems for church growth
  • How to remain faithful during a church-wide split
  • Managing staff relationships when your role changes
