About the Associate Pastor
Dundee Presbyterian Church, a historic and thriving congregation in Omaha, NE, is seeking a dedicated and spiritually mature Associate Pastor to join its ministry team. The Associate Pastor will collaborate with the Senior Pastor, staff, and Session to provide leadership in discipleship and community outreach and to preach throughout the year. This individual will play a key role in shepherding and connecting the congregation, with a particular emphasis on fostering spiritual growth, building meaningful relationships, and supporting the church’s mission to share the love of Christ. This important role will report to the Senior Pastor and Session.

The Associate Pastor’s responsibilities include:
Discipleship and Spiritual formation:
- Develop and oversee small groups, Bible studies, and educational programs for adults.
- Support and collaborate with the youth and children’s ministries to promote intergenerational faith formation.
- Lead and facilitate classes or workshops on Christian living, theology, and spiritual growth.
- Develop opportunities to connect with young families and help prepare them for each new season in their children’s lives.
- Manage a budget for oversight areas.
Community Engagement and Outreach:
- Partner with local ministries and organizations to foster meaningful community involvement.
- Support mission initiatives and promote congregational participation in outreach efforts.
- Engage with the broader Omaha community to reflect the church’s commitment to service and compassion.
- Introduce visitors and new members to the many ministries the church offers
Pastoral Care:
- Provide compassionate care and support to church members, including hospital visits and Christ-centered counseling.
- Be available for crisis intervention and offer spiritual guidance to individuals and families.
Worship Leadership:
- Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to plan and lead worship services, including preaching as needed. Preaching around 15 times a year.
- Participate in liturgical planning, offering creative and biblically sound input.
- Provide leadership in occasional services, such as weddings, funerals, and special seasonal events.
- Assist in administering the sacraments of Communion and Baptism in accordance with PCUSA traditions.


What you bring
The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Associate Pastor:
Education and experience
- Ordained (or eligible for ordination) as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the PCUSA.
- Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from an accredited seminary.
- Strong biblical and theological foundation, with a commitment to Reformed theology.
- 5-7 years of experience
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Passion for community engagement and mission-driven outreach.
- Demonstrated leadership in developing discipleship programs and small groups.
- Collaborative team player with a servant-hearted attitude.
- Experience in multi-generational ministry and congregational care.
- Proven ability to provide pastoral care and spiritual support.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and administrative abilities.
- Effective communicator with strong preaching, teaching, and relational skills
- Ability to relate to and connect with people of all ages and backgrounds.
- Use social media to communicate about ministries and missions.
- Able to work closely with the Senior Pastor to plan and execute church activities and day-to-day operations.
