About the General Manager
The General Manager (GM) of Bartel Group will have full responsibility for leading all aspects of the manufacturing facility dedicated to producing MTS suction excavators (Dry Vac Excavation). This role demands a highly strategic and results-driven leader with a proven track record in both heavy equipment manufacturing and sales management. The GM will be accountable for optimizing operational efficiency, driving significant sales growth, and upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
In addition, the GM will be responsible for cultivating and reinforcing strong relationships with Bartel Group & partners at MTS, ensuring alignment on product standards, innovation, and strategic objectives. This includes effective communication, collaboration on product development, and ensuring mutual growth and success through a well-managed partnership.
The General Manager will consistently represent the core values of OXE’s parent company, Bartels Group, by demonstrating the highest standard of courtesy and respect in their dealings with employees, customers, and internal/external stakeholders.

The General Manager’s responsibilities include:
Activity A: Operational Efficiency and Compliance
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring production targets are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve productivity and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Manage inventory levels, supply chain logistics, and relationships with suppliers.
- Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Develop and enforce policies related to quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Promote a safety-first culture through regular training and awareness programs.
- Collaborate with the Health and Safety team to update safety protocols based on regulatory changes.
- Maintain accurate safety records and report compliance metrics to senior leadership.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline production processes and reduce waste.
- Develop contingency plans to manage operational risks and ensure business continuity.
Activity B: Sales Growth and Market Expansion
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand market share for MTS suction excavators.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and partners.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and adjust strategies as necessary to achieve revenue targets.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance brand visibility and lead generation.
- Identify growth opportunities and develop business plans to expand product lines and market reach.
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends and customer needs.
- Drive innovation by collaborating with engineering teams on product enhancements.
- Expand distribution channels and explore new markets to increase sales reach and volume.
- Work with BG’s Marketing Department to leverage digital marketing and e-commerce platforms to boost lead generation and sales conversion.
Activity C: Financial Management and Leadership Development
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Analyze financial statements to assess business performance and profitability.
- Implement cost control measures to optimize operational expenses.
- Approve capital expenditures and evaluate ROI for major investments.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across production, sales, and administrative functions.
- Establish clear performance goals and conduct regular evaluations and feedback sessions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration between departments.
- Present strategic plans and performance updates to senior leadership.
- Establish succession planning and talent development programs to ensure long-term leadership continuity.

What you bring
The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the General Manager:
Education and Experience
- 10+ years of management experience in heavy equipment manufacturing or a related industry.
- Proven success in managing manufacturing operations and sales teams.
- Strong background in budget management, financial analysis, and cost control.
- Experience with safety programs and regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proven ability to develop and execute business and sales strategies.
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and process optimization.
- Ability to handle high levels of stress and make critical decisions in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, capable of managing priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in using software for business analytics and financial management.
- Primarily office-based with regular visits to the manufacturing floor and occasional travel to customers, trade shows, and MTS Germany.
- Standard working hours with the need for flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by business needs.
- Potential for exposure to the typical physical hazards associated with manufacturing environments necessitates strict adherence to safety protocols.
