About the Head of Production
2819 Church is seeking a visionary Productions Director to lead the technical aspects of worship services and events. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and creativity to ensure seamless worship experiences for both in-person and digital disciples. The Head of Production’s responsibilities include:
- Technical Oversight & Execution
Manage all technical production elements (audio, video, lighting, broadcast) for services and events. Oversee pre-event preparations, including sound checks and tech rehearsals, and provide real-time support during events. Ensure smooth execution for both in-person and online audiences. - Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, train, and lead a team of staff and volunteers, fostering spiritual and professional growth. Implement training programs and ensure high performance across all technical areas. - Strategic Planning & Systems Management
Build scalable systems for scheduling, training, and quality control. Develop long-term plans for technology upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and risk management. - Creative Collaboration
Partner with the Worship and Creative teams to design immersive worship experiences. Contribute technical insights to planning meetings for sermon series and special events, including set design and transitions. - Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as a liaison between production, worship, creative, and pastoral teams. Communicate technical requirements and timelines to stakeholders and maintain a unified approach across departments. - Budgeting & Resource Stewardship
Manage the production budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards. Recommend technology upgrades and investments to enhance production quality.
Minimal Essential Functions:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
- Ability to work with others and manage demanding deadlines.
Working Hours & Expectations:
- Sunday presence is required for all gatherings and special events
- Regular office hours, Monday-Thursday
- Flexibility for special projects, urgent/high priority production requests outside of regular hours


What you bring
The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Head of Production:
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Solid Experience in place of a bachelor’s degree will be considered.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in live production (audio, video, lighting), with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Experience in church production (preferably in a medium to large church setting)
Qualifications
- Strong, mature faith in Jesus Christ
- Proficient in multi-camera live streaming, digital mixing consoles, and production systems design
- Skilled in team-building and volunteer leadership
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly during live events
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to adapt plans based on pastoral direction or Holy Spirit-led changes
- A heart for ministry and alignment with the mission of 2819 Church
- Bonus: Background in live event or broadcast production (TV/film)
