Meet North County Christ the King Church

North County Christ the King Church is a vibrant, multi-generational church with a deep commitment to reaching real people with the real hope of Jesus. With our main campus located in Lynden, WA, and a smaller campus in Kendall, WA, we are passionate about making a tangible difference both in our local communities and around the world. We live out the gospel in authentic, relational, and practical ways—and we are deeply committed to being both locally rooted and globally minded.

Our church has a long-standing culture of local outreach and global missions, partnering with ministries and leaders to share the love of Christ across cultures and continents. We are seeking a visionary Senior Pastor to lead our church into its next season of Spirit-led growth, deeper discipleship, and expanded mission.

About the Senior Pastor

You are a relational, Spirit-led leader who communicates the truth of the Bible with relevance, depth, and practical application. You have a heart for the lost and a passion for making the church a welcoming place for real people facing real struggles. You value team leadership, cultivate a healthy and empowering staff culture, and thrive on building meaningful connections within the church and in the broader community. You carry a global mindset and a deep commitment to missions, eager to see the church mobilized to make disciples of all nations. You are passionate about fostering a culture of worship and are a visionary, gifted communicator.

The Senior Pastor’s responsibilities include:

Spiritual Leadership & Preaching

  • Serve as the primary teacher/preacher, delivering biblically sound, culturally relevant messages that inspire life transformation.
  • Provide spiritual oversight for the church and cast a compelling vision rooted in Scripture and led by the Holy Spirit.
  • Lead with humility, authenticity, and a heart that models Christlike servant leadership.

Community & Global Engagement

  • Champion the church’s mission to engage with the local community through outreach and compassion.
  • Promote and participate in global mission efforts, building relationships with international partners and sending/supporting short-term teams and long-term missionaries.
  • Foster a culture of generosity and prayer for what God is doing locally and globally.

Staff & Leadership Development

  • Lead, equip, and shepherd a high-capacity pastoral staff and leadership team.
  • Empower ministry leaders to thrive in their roles and grow in their spiritual and professional development.
  • Cultivate a collaborative and grace-filled team culture.

Vision & Strategic Direction

  • Prayerfully discern God’s direction for the church’s future and lead the church in pursuing that vision.
  • Oversee long-term planning, ministry effectiveness, and alignment with the church’s core mission and values.
  • Work closely with the church Council in matters of governance, accountability, and strategic priorities.

Congregational Care & Discipleship

  • Ensure systems are in place to shepherd the spiritual needs of the congregation, including care ministries, discipleship pathways, and outreach efforts.
  • Encourage and model relational discipleship, mentoring, and leadership development throughout the church.

What you bring

Education and experience

  • Masters degree

Personal characteristics and qualifications

  • A clear, compelling relationship with Jesus Christ and a calling to pastoral ministry.
  • 10+ years of pastoral experience, including experience leading in a large or multi-staff church setting.
  • Strong preaching and communication skills with a track record of relevant, impactful teaching.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, develop leaders, and cast vision.
  • A love for people and a deep desire to see lives transformed by the power of Jesus.
  • A passion for missions and a commitment to both local and global outreach.
  • Master of Divinity or equivalent theological education preferred.
