About the Rector
Episcopal Church of the Ascension is seeking its next rector to succeed the current rector, who recently retired after 16 years as our pastor. Ascension seeks candidates preferably with at least five years of applicable experience as the rector or associate rector of a mid-size parish comparable to ours in Anglican Theology and practice. As a parish, Ascension is orthodox, evangelical, and sacramental. To maintain the momentum of an active parish and to guide the parish through challenging times,

- A spiritual leader and a person of God who leads and encourages us
- A shepherd with pastoral gifts: caring, accessible, open, sensitive
- An administrator who empowers laity leadership in parish ministries and effectively manages the parish’s paid staff
- An energetic preacher, committed to the Anglican tradition and traditional liturgy
- An educator who actively guides Christian Education for all ages, including youth ministry
- A stewardship leader who faithfully communicates the importance of giving time, talents, and material resources
- An advocate for our parish day school who understands its integral relationship with the parish as Ascension’s principal outreach mission
- A member of our church family who will participate in the various programs and activities offered
