Canaan Taiwanese Christian Church (Canaan) is a prominent Christian church located at 4405 Fortran Court, San Jose, CA 95134. It serves the Taiwanese, Asian American, and broader community in the San Francisco Bay Area. Canaan is known for its intergenerational approach, with separate ministries for different age groups and language preferences while remaining a unified church. About the Senior Pastor
The Senior Pastor’s responsibilities include providing spiritual leadership and leading the church toward its vision of Healthy Intergenerational Faith Community.

The Senior Pastor provides spiritual leadership and leads the church toward its vision of being a “Healthy Intergenerational Faith Community.”
- Leading and integrating all ministries (Taiwanese, Mandarin, English, Family, Youth, and Children) to achieve unity in the faith of Jesus Christ.
- Leading the Pastoral Office with the primary responsibility for shepherding the ministerial staff at Canaan. Cultivating healthy leaders is paramount to achieving sustainable growth while preserving personal connections as a church family.
- Serving as chairperson for Session, Consistory, and Nomination Committee.
- Enabling teamwork between the Pastoral Office, Session, and Consistory.
- Leading the teaching and equipping of the church body based on the word of God.
- Leading the Pastoral Office to actively shepherd church members.
- Prioritizing the development of evangelism among Taiwanese ethnic groups.
- Integrating intergenerational ministry across seniors, adults, young adults, families, youth, and children.
- Overseeing preaching curriculum across all ministries, equipping, discipleship, missions, caring, and education.

Qualifications and experience
- Called by God with passion in shepherding God’s people.
- A spiritual role model of a true follower of Jesus Christ.
- Conferred a Master of Divinity degree from an accredited theological seminary.
- Possess excellent skills in leadership, relationship, and communication.
- Have 10+ years experience in Taiwanese ministry in a pastoral role (preferred).
- Have pastoral experience in a North American church (preferred).
- Be conversant in Taiwanese, English, and Mandarin languages (preferred).
