About the VP of Sales and Marketing
The Vice President (VP) of Sales and Marketing is responsible for leading BOS Innovations’ growth strategy by aligning the company’s marketing and sales efforts under one unified vision. This executive-level role oversees both Canadian and US sales operations, as well as the overall marketing strategy. The VP will also be accountable for the initial startup and initial operations of BOS USA in Kentucky, ensuring integration with BOS standards and embedding company values into the culture of the new office. Our Kentucky location will be the geographical center for BOS strategic sales growth.

The VP of Sales and Marketing’s responsibilities include:
BOS USA – Operational Oversight
Operational oversight is a temporary responsibility during the initial establishment of the BOS USA office; all operational staff will report to Canadian leadership.
- Provide executive leadership over the BOS USA location, ensuring overall operations align with BOS standards and practices.
- Support BOS corporate management of the BOS USA team, including hiring, onboarding, and performance.
- Integrate BOS Innovations’ values into the workplace culture to create a strong, engaged, and aligned team environment.
Sales (Canada & USA)
Temporary responsibilities required during the initial establishment of the BOS USA office:
- Leverage the existing US customer base and BOS Canada Sales team: Development of Business for BOS USA during the initial phase of growth, directly executing day-to-day sales activities such as prospecting, client outreach, relationship development, and proposal preparation.
- Actively build the customer base in the United States by leveraging existing BOS clients and identifying new business opportunities in the local market.
- Transition sales responsibilities to additional team members as growth milestones are reached and the team expands.
Ongoing, long-term responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and strategic oversight for all sales activities in both Canada and the United States.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and customer relationships.
- Lead and mentor the Business Development and Account Management team in the Canadian office.
- Align sales strategy with marketing campaigns to drive growth and improve lead conversion rates.
- Represent BOS at industry events, conferences, and key customer engagements.
- Ensure strong coordination between sales, product development, and operations teams.
Marketing
- Provide strategic oversight and leadership for all marketing activities, setting the vision, direction, and priorities for the department.
- Guide and support the Marketing Coordinator, who is responsible for executing day-to-day marketing tasks and campaigns.
- Develop integrated marketing strategies that align with business goals and support lead generation and brand awareness.
- Oversee brand consistency across all platforms and planning of digital initiatives including SEO, SEM, social media, and email campaigns.
- Monitor performance metrics and campaign ROI, guiding adjustments to maximize impact.
- Direct ongoing improvements to the BOS website and lead market analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
- Represent BOS at industry trade shows to strengthen brand presence and uncover marketing opportunities.
- Manage the department budget and foster a collaborative, innovative team culture.

What you bring
The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the VP of Sales and Marketing:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred
- Experience – 5-10 years
- Required and Highly Desired Experience:
- Industry Experience:
- Experience in the industrial automation industry is consistently highlighted as crucial and required. This includes experience with automation integration, systems integration, machine building, robotics, and control integration. Understanding projects and the process of building to order is essential, as they are a custom builder and project company, not production-focused.
- Business Development and Sales:
- Candidates should have a background in Business Development, ideally with around five years of experience. The role requires someone who can act as a Business Development Manager initially, finding business, initiating customer relationships, and driving sales. Experience selling solutions, rather than just “widgets,” is important. The ability to identify problems on a plant floor and envision automation solutions is valued. Sales experience should involve prospecting, client outreach, relationship development, and proposal preparation.
- Technical Understanding:
- While not necessarily requiring a technical degree, the ability to understand the technology BOS uses is important. Candidates could come from skilled trades backgrounds like engineering (mechanical or electrical), or potentially have experience as an electrician, tool and die maker, or maintenance in an automotive setting. Experience working directly with an automated integrator would be a great asset.
- Management and Leadership:
- Experience in management within manufacturing is beneficial to understand the workflow. The role involves providing strategic oversight and leadership for sales and marketing activities. Once the team grows, the VP will lead and mentor the Business Development and Account Management teams. They need to be a strong leader and strategic thinker who can drive initiatives forward.
