PODCAST SERIES | What I've Learned While Starting a New Job in the Middle of a Pandemic
By: Vanderbloemen December 17, 2020
In this series, we’re talking with ministry leaders who were brave enough to take a new job during 2020, the year of uncertainty. These leaders arrived at their new church home during the same year as COVID-19 when church buildings shut down, social distancing kept us apart, and there was an immediate shift to online operations. We helped place these pastors in their roles in a year unlike any other and wanted to catch up with them now, as we end this year, and share their stories of trial, success, and agility. We all pushed boundaries this year adapting to new things, so we hope these conversations explore relatable situations and pose insightful questions to consider in the new year as we put what we have learned from 2020 into practice.
These conversations provide encouragement, insight, and forward-looking tips for navigating the impacts of 2020. The series consists of the following conversations. Don’t miss:
Ricky Jenkins, Senior Pastor of Southwest Church in Indian Wells, California, discusses how to stay connected to your church's mission in the midst of madness and how to find true peace in times of chaos.
Philip Miller, Senior Pastor of The Moody Church in Chicago, Illinois shares tips for leading through unprecedented waters and how to see trials as an opportunity to fully appreciate Christ’s all-sufficient love.
Tim Stevens, Executive Pastor of Campuses at Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago, Illinois, recalls the way God prepared him for a physical, vocational, and emotional transition and tips for navigating change management virtually.
Eric Geiger, Senior Pastor of Mariners Church in Irvine, California shares his unique perspective on pivoting his ministry strategy when COVID-19 hit 18 months into his new role.
Lead well through the end of 2020 by understanding the landscape you’re navigating and being encouraged by others fighting the same battle as you.
