Meet Revive Wesleyan:

With humble beginnings in 1957, Revive Wesleyan has grown to be a community of people committed to Pursuing God, Proclaiming Jesus, and Participating with the Holy Spirit. They have 5 campuses at 4 locations in the towns of Hamburg, Eden, Springville, and East Aurora—all in the Southtowns of Buffalo, New York.

Revive Wesleyan is a church where families can find fellowship, support, healing, and teaching for all generations. It is a place where both the seasoned believer and those still finding their way can seek God without judgment or shame. They value and live out scripture, prayer, worship, disciple-making, generosity, hospitality, and outreach. Outreach is particularly important to the people of Revive Wesleyan. They have been deeply connected to partners in the city of Buffalo and internationally for decades. One of the ways they live this out is through Heart Check, an annual giving campaign through which the congregation has given away more than $13 million to partner ministries.

We invite you to meet the team of people who make up the staff at Revive Wesleyan!

The Executive Pastor will work collaboratively with the Lead Pastor, staff, and church leadership to create strategic ministry objectives and measurable goals across all campuses and venues. He or she will demonstrate effective ministry and operational leadership in day-to-day activities, staff development, and strategic initiatives. This includes an intense focus on mobilizing the congregation to participate and serve in their communities. The candidate will be a leader of leaders, ensuring that the staff is operating in their gifts and strengths, and is empowered to lead their respective ministries. Organizational savvy and experience are critical.

Job Post #4

What it's Like to Live in Hamburg, New York:

Known as the Southtowns, the suburbs located just 15 minutes south of Downtown Buffalo are distinguished by their quaint village centers, heavily treed neighborhoods, hilly terrain, and the ease with which you can get downtown, out into the quiet of the woods and countryside, or to Lake Erie. They also boast great school districts and easy access to necessities and amenities like stores and major retailers, medical offices, theater and concert venues, beautiful parks, and more.

There’s a saying in Buffalo that everything is just 20 minutes away. That’s true even at rush hour. This metropolitan area has a small-town feel while still bringing in touring Broadway productions at Shea’s Performing Arts Center, hosting its own philharmonic orchestra at Kleinhans Music Hall, and welcoming students from around the world at its several colleges including University at  Buffalo, SUNY Buffalo State University , Canisius College, and more.

Buffalo is home to a vibrant and diverse culture that goes on display during the many festivals that run all summer long. These include the Italian Heritage Festival, Buffalo Greek Fest, Allentown Arts Festival, Taste of Buffalo, Buffalo Irish Festival, East Aurora Music Fest, Hamburg BurgerFest, Puerto Rican and Hispanic Day Parade Festival, and the biggest celebration of Polish pride outside of Poland: Dyngus Day.

Living in the Southtowns affords you many opportunities for recreation through all four seasons. Running and cycling are popular no matter the weather. Golf courses and swim clubs dot the region. We have access to two of the biggest bodies of freshwater, Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, for boating, fishing, swimming, sailing, or just spending a day at the beach. We have several ski resorts, some just 15 minutes from your home, where you can ski or snowboard in the winter. There are hiking trails in many of the parks, including Chestnut Ridge Park and along the Niagara Gorge. The Outer Harbor and Canalside host fun activities both on water and land during warm months. There’s also the museums, Delaware Park (which was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted of Central Park fame), the zoo, and the Botanical Gardens.

We love our professional sports teams: the Buffalo Bills (NFL) and the Buffalo Sabres (NHL). We are also home to the Buffalo Bisons, the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Buffalo Bandits, a professional indoor lacrosse team.

And we can’t go without mentioning the food! Come get authentic chicken wings and then discover so much more: beef on weck, Sahlen’s hot dogs, Fowler’s chocolate, Weber’s mustard, Anderson’s, Louie’s, Chef’s…we could go on. This is a town known for its local restaurants and mom-and-pop shops.

Most of the world might think of Buffalo only for its snow, but it is so much more than that. It’s known as the City of Good Neighbors, and we would love to welcome you.
