First Baptist Church Elkhart Hires Family Pastor

What does Ring the Bell mean? At Vanderbloemen, we want to celebrate as a team every time we have the honor of helping a church, school, or organization find their perfect candidate to fill a gap in their team and further their ministry. To do that, we have a bell on the wall in our Vanderbloemen office, within hearing distance of the entire team. Every time a candidate is placed, the team members who worked on that search ring the bell so that our team can celebrate!

Ring the bell! First Baptist Church Elkhart found their new Family Pastor.

First Baptist Church was founded in downtown Elkhart, Indiana, in 1860. What started as a small group of believers has turned into 40 acres of land and over 1,000 attendees each week. FBC Elkhart exists to equip believers to love God, love people, and influence the world with the Gospel. The church is outreach-oriented in its approach to the community and strives to be a growing, relevant, and vibrant congregation that is filled with passionate Christ followers.

Upon meeting with FBC Elkhart, we discovered their need for a Family Pastor who would be responsible for the oversight, development, and implementation of the church’s Family Ministry strategies while helping further their mission. We found Tom Kearney to be a perfect match for this search. 

Tom has great experience serving as a minister with children, youth, and families. He is a servant leader with strong collaboration skills and a fun-loving spirit. Tom has spiritual gifts in teaching, shepherding, leadership, and administration. His interpersonal skills and vast experiences will set him up for success as the new Family Pastor at FBC Elkhart. 

The Kearney family is excited about this new chapter. Tom, his wife Michelle, and their four children will be a great addition to FBC Elkhart. We are confident that Tom will bless the Family Ministry with his thoughtful, intentional leadership.
