I-90 Community Church Hires Lead Pastor
By: Vanderbloemen May 3, 2021
ISSAQUAH, Washington - I-90 Community Church in Issaquah, WA has expanded its leadership team by appointing Trey Skinner as Lead Pastor. I-90 Community Church believes that church isn’t ultimately about a service to attend or even an organization to be a member of, but rather a community to belong to and a mission to partner with. They value intimacy with God, living in the freedom and security that comes with having Him as our Father, maintaining healthy family lives with margin and sabbath rest, generosity, and living on-mission to help others do the same.
Trey Skinner began personally walking with God after finding discipleship during his time at Davidson College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in religion. Following college, he contributed two years of volunteer service and lived in Belize for two years, teaching math and English to juvenile offenders. Once he returned to the U.S., he served as the family pastor and then executive pastor of Calvary Southbury church in Connecticut. He has a Masters of Arts in Bible and Theology from Western Seminary.
Jennifer Winge, Executive Search Consultant at Vanderbloemen, shared her thoughts on this search and hire, saying, "I-90 Community Church was a church plant that was looking for a Lead Pastor to follow their founding pastor. This always takes a special leader to come into a legacy space like this. I specifically remember being impressed with Trey’s heart for the “big C” Church. This aligned so well with the heart of reaching people in their daily lives and bringing them into a community of love, grace, and growth that was foundational to the I-90 church family."
During his time serving in the Peace Corps, Trey met his wife, Molly, and together they have four kids- Caleb, Noah, Eden, and Abigail. Trey and Molly felt for a while that the Lord was calling them to ministry in the Pacific Northwest, and they are excited to have begun this journey with I-90.
Vanderbloemen is honored to have partnered with I-90 Community Church on this important search, and we’re thrilled for them in this next season of leadership.
