Westside Church Hires Discipleship Pastor

OMAHA, Nebraska - We’re excited to announce that Westside Church in Omaha, Nebraska has expanded its leadership team by appointing Marcus Cochran as their new Adult Discipleship Pastor. This ministry is committed to fulfilling The Great Commission by connecting its members to Christ, to other believers and to a lifestyle of discipleship and evangelism.

Marcus Cochran has responded to the Lord’s call to utilize his leadership gifts for missions and ministry. He believes it is important to strategize, maintain, and implement a discipleship initiative in churches and he is prepared to continue and build on this process in his new role. His vision for evangelism at Westside is for it to be centered on the Word, built on fellowship, and have a missional focus. Marcus has spent the better part of his life helping people reach the purpose God has planned for them and mentoring others to grow in their faith and be disciples for Christ.

Brian Dunks, Executive Search Consultant, guided this search and stated that “Westside has made great strides in the last few years developing an intentional discipleship structure with groups and support ministry.  Marcus has the right skill set, experience and character to be very successful leading them to take that structure to the next level.”

Marcus has served in various practices throughout his career, including in education as a teacher and coach, working as a short-term missionary, and being an Education and Missions Pastors for the past six years. He has been married to his wife, Robin, for fourteen years and they have two children, who enjoy participating in church with the family. Marcus is passionate about discipleship and he will pursue Christ-like mentorship as he steps into this position.
