Here at Vanderbloemen Search Group, our team is constantly thankful to be able to work with amazing churches to help them find key staff. As Thanksgiving approaches, we are reflecting on the specific things that bring us the most gratitude, and we encourage your church staff to do the same.

Here is what our team is giving thanks for this month:

William Vanderbloemen: “Seeing and working with the team of over 30 people here, every day, under one roof and providing a solution for every church staff's biggest issue; - that's something I thank God for every day. It's the best team I've ever gotten to work with, and the most fulfilling work I've ever gotten to do.“

Ben Homesley: “I’m thankful for my team.”

Tim Stevens: “I’m thankful for working with a team of amazing leaders who love the Church and are giving their lives to help advance the Kingdom.”

Bob Sutton: “This year has not been without its challenges, but my verse this year has been Psalm 73:26: 'My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.' I'm thankful for God's provision and faithfulness, not only in my work, but in all of life this year.”

Holly Tate: "I'm thankful for the opportunity to see what God is doing in the global Kingdom. I'm constantly blown away by how He's using so many different types of people and churches to reach our world with the love of Jesus."

Sarah Robins: “I get to interact with dozens of churches a week and hear their stories and needs. It's a pretty incredible honor to walk alongside them as we work together in helping them build out their teams.”

Jay Mitchell: “I'm thankful that I get to see all the different ways God is working in the world, through so many churches and leaders.“

Jeff Bigelow: “I’m thankful for colleagues who are both focused, determined, and task-oriented, but also courteous, personable, and flexible.  In other words, they have both a hard side and a soft side!”

Deanna Kotrla: “Thankful for the privilege to connect with church leaders daily who are advancing the Kingdom. It consistently challenges me to see how God uses all of us to write His story in the world!”

Danny Watterson: “I’m thankful for the opportunity to help from both sides – Helping churches find top-notch people for ministry and helping great candidates find a landing spot.”

Milan Ford: “If you had told me some 18 years ago (when I first began working full-time in ministry) that I would be one day be apart of an organization whose sole purpose was to help staff and support her, I would have never believed you. Today, I am beyond grateful to serve alongside some of the most talented group of leaders I have ever known, whose passion for the local church inspires me day after day.”

Brian Dunks: “I am thankful for a cohesive team that carries a desire for excellence and constant improvement in what we do.  I'm thankful we serve the Kingdom in a unique niche' of connecting candidates and clients and knowing that service carries eternal implications.”

Tracey Smith: “I’m grateful for the opportunity to have a front row seat of watching God connect great leaders to great churches! Kingdom work!” 

Caroline Carthey: “Having the opportunity to not only do work that I love, but with people that I enjoy! There isn't a day that I don't laugh out loud (and sometimes even cry from laughter.) Thankful for the work I get to do and with the people and clients I get to do it with.”

Gail Mayes: “I'm thankful to be part of a team that serves our clients and our candidates tirelessly. I’m also thankful to be part of a team that serves each other so joyfully.”

Sarah Newsome: “I'm thankful that I get to interact with candidates who renew my faith in the church, and that I get to play even a small role in God's kingdom work. I'm also thankful for colleagues who support and encourage me, and who enable me to grow personally and professionally.”

Rusty Gates: “I am thankful for work that demands our best efforts and for accomplishments which satisfy and delight!”

Sam Murray: “I'm thankful to be a part of a team that has such a wide range of experiences and knowledge to learn from.”

Katie Bivens: “Thankful to be a part of a mission that is bigger than me!” 

Jeff Gilmer: “I'm thankful to work in an environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and outside of the box thinking on a daily basis. Thankful to work with a team that truly has a common and meaningful goal to achieve both personally, and as a staff.”

Katie Fridsma: “I’m thankful for and inspired by my coworkers who consistently go out of their way to serve and show love to one another. This servanthood extends beyond the team to our clients, candidates, and even our community here in Houston - I'm truly honored to work alongside each team member.”

David Fantin: “I am thankful for a job that makes me hate the weekend...I can't wait for Monday and to get back to work!”

Bethany Brewster: “I'm thankful to be around people every day who love Jesus and encourage me to grow personally and professionally!”

Casey Hampton: “I'm thankful to get to serve the Kingdom in a unique way, while working alongside the best team I've ever met.”

Kendal Drinkwine: “To this day I can’t believe I get to call this my job. I’m thankful to be able to work with a team of amazing people who are Kingdom minded and desire to staff the church. It truly is a joy and honor to do what we do everyday.”

Nicole Cochran: “I’m thankful for a team that is so collaborative and willing to teach/learn. Questions are always welcome and encouraged, and no matter how long you’ve been here, there’s an attitude of wanting to learn new things.”

Thilini Cate: “Thankful for the women in leadership in the global ministry and marketplace. They have successfully transcended and overwhelmed all man-made boundaries through the years, and are leading with significant influence that is flourishing, thriving and simply stunning.”

Eden Wittendorf: “I'm thankful for the wonderful adventure that this year has been. I'm grateful for an amazing, supportive team that has welcomed me in and helped make Texas home.”
