What does Ring the Bell mean? At Vanderbloemen, we want to celebrate as a team every time we have the honor of helping a church, school, or organization find their perfect candidate to fill a gap in their team and further their ministry. To do that, we have a bell on the wall in our Vanderbloemen office, within hearing distance of the entire team. Every time a candidate is placed, the team members who worked on that search ring the bell so that our team can celebrate!

Ring the bell! Mayflower Congregational Church has found its new Senior Pastor.

Mayflower Church is a faith community that gathers together with the purpose of honoring God and bringing others to the faith. They were in search of a Senior Pastor to teach, build, and equip Mayflower for its ministry which is where we stepped in as a partner alongside them. As we learned more about their ministry and this role, we knew what they were looking for and Shawn Bawulski was the perfect match.

Shawn brings ministerial leadership, a pastoral ear, and a passion that will serve the church well. He was previously serving at an international church in Beijing, China so COVID-19 made the search process a bit more challenging through video communication and time zones. However, one search committee member expressed that since she was able to connect with him so deeply over zoom, she was confident that he would be an amazing fit in person. She also expressed how even thorough the concerns of a virtual search, the Lord gave their committee an overwhelming amount of peace and guidance through the process. It was clear that the Lord’s hand was over this process.

Shawn, his wife of 20 years, Sara, and their two daughters are thrilled to be relocating from Beijing, China back to the midwest where he is originally from. He has lived in many different countries and cultures but is excited to serve and minister in a place he is familiar with. We are so thankful to have partnered with Mayflower and Shawn on this search, and we are thrilled for their church to excel under the leadership and teaching of Shawn.
